Recently, President Trump announced that TikTok would have to sell 50% of its business to an American or a non-Chinese entity in order to keep doing business in the US. As a result, a bidding war has started between American businesses to buy this lucrative business. One of the front runners is Frank McCourt, who has shown interest in buying TikTok’s US Business. His internet advocacy group, Project Liberty, has already made a bid for the social media app. A spokesperson for the project shared that the group has submitted their bid to the parent company of TikTok, byteDance. The spokesperson refrained from sharing any financials of the bid.
However, another name came forward, which has created quite a buzz. American YouTuber and the biggest creator on the planet, MrBeast, has also shown interest in buying TikTok. The 26-year-old creator has teamed up with tech entrepreneur Jesse Tinsley, the founder of the online HR company Employee.com, to make an all-cash bid to buy TikTok.

MrBeast, or Jimmy Donaldson (real name), has expressed interest in buying TikTok in several social media posts, including an X post on January 13 where he wrote, “I’ll buy TikTok so it doesn’t get banned.” He also said he has been talking to a “bunch of billionaires” about a bid.
Although nobody has revealed a number regarding the deal, Trump did put a value of $1 trillion on the app on Tuesday. This means whoever wants to buy this TikTok will have to cough up around $500 billion.
