The biggest car manufacturer on the planet, Tesla, is looking for candidates in India to fill specific job roles in multiple offices nationwide. This is a sure sign that the company plans to enter the market after CEO Elon Musk met India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The EV maker posted 13 job ads on its LinkedIn page for 13 roles, including front-end and back-end jobs. The job postings were for 2 locations, Delhi and Mumbai. Five of the thirteen positions, including various advisory roles and service technician, were available both in Mumbai and in Delhi. Whereas the rest of the openings, like customer engagement managers and delivery operation specialists, were available exclusively in Mumbai.
Tesla and India have long been at odds regarding the launch of Tesla EVs in India. However, with the latest developments, it seems more favorable for Tesla to enter the market now. India, after bilateral talks with the US, has lowered the duty on vehicles above $40,000 to 70% from 110%.
